Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó agreed on Sunday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will help evacuate the Hungarians stuck in Almaty.

As a result of the wave of violence unleashed in Kazakhstan, Hungarian lives were also in danger. The Hungarian foreign ministry will use all possible means to evacuate some of our citizens staying there, which is why Sunday's agreement was important. Péter Szijjártó writes about this on his Facebook page:

"Today we agreed with my colleague Sergey Lavrov that the Russian Foreign Ministry will help evacuate the Hungarians stuck in Almaty. Our Consulate Generals have already agreed on the technical details, so I hope we will be able to report good news tomorrow."
