Even in the 21st century, lands are confiscated based on Beneš's decrees! The Alliance of Hungarian parties found that after 2020, despite the promises, land confiscations will take place on the part of the Slovak state. President Krisztián Forró, Vice President Mózes Szabolcs and County Vice President József Berényi, chairman of the MKP platform, warned of this at a press conference in Bratislava. The Alliance's politicians also proposed a solution to the untenable situation.

Krisztián Forró said that they became aware of cases where people lost their properties overnight.

"Anyone who knows about this should inform us, this situation is unacceptable, immediate action must be taken," emphasized the party president.

Mózes Szabolcs spoke about the details. The bad spirit of President Beneš, i.e. his decrees, is coming back again. Nowadays, land confiscations continue in such a way that the land confiscation decision due to nationality is placed next to the land ownership sheet, and the land becomes the property of the Slovak state.

And there are times when a person of the 21st century does not even know that he has lost his property. The vice-president said that the Slovak Land Fund, which is close to the largest party of the government coalition, OĽANO, JUDr. Michal Miškovič signed a contract worth hundreds of thousands of euros with his law firm for "land management orders".

The Association has developed a draft law to remedy the situation, and is also initiating a meeting with the Minister of Justice and the new director of the Slovak Land Fund.

József Berényi reminded that in 2020 there was already an example of the injured person getting his land back at the European Court of Human Rights. International practice offers legal remedies, and the decision of the European court is binding for Slovakia.
