According to the plans, the Southern Buda Center Hospital planned for Dobogo in Újbuda can improve the health care of a total of 1.2 million people living not only in Budapest, but also in the regional agglomeration settlements in the future, said István Simicskó, a member of the Újbuda parliament, in a statement to Magyar Hírlap . He emphasized that it is of great importance that the South Buda Central Hospital can soon be built in Újbuda.

A modern, 21st-century health center is being created with the aim of providing patients with high-quality, efficient and fast care. In the huge institution, 300 pediatric and maternity beds, as well as another 900 places providing acute care, will be available 24 hours a day for those in need of care, said the KDNP parliamentary faction leader. He added that the hospital will be equipped with the most advanced medical equipment and a unique IT and technological system. The building complex will be designed in such a way that it can meet the changing medical requirements, and fetal operating rooms and robotic surgery rooms will also be located in the center hospital.

It was also important for the planning that by converting an existing hospital, it would not have been possible to make all the planned functions fully available to the population in one place, but with this investment, all of this will be easily solved, the Christian Democrat politician pointed out. He pointed out that the institution will be equipped in a unique way, with robotic technology, which will actually be built near the only general hospital in South Buda, the Szent Imre Hospital, in the XI. in the district, thus greatly contributing to the provision of high-quality and professional care in the region.

István Simicskó recalled that even as Minister of National Defense he lobbied for the investment to be implemented in his constituency, as Újbuda can continue to develop thanks to the infrastructural developments. The complex, planned for the area next to the entrance section of the M1 and M7 motorways, will provide excellent transport opportunities for everyone, so the population not only of Budapest, but also of the regional agglomeration settlements, including Törökbálin, Páty, Érd, and Budaörs, will be able to easily access the hospital.

"The government is also conducting thoughtful and professional planning in the field of health care, the capacity of the new center hospital is being developed taking into account the perceptible social processes, especially with regard to the increase in the population of the agglomeration around Budapest," emphasized the leader of the KDNP faction.

He noted that it is worth comparing the processes that characterized the health sector during the current center-right-conservative government and the previous left-wing governments. "While in the period before 2010, the government's idea was to make health care pay, patients had to pay daily hospital fees and visiting fees for care, today we have eliminated the half-century-old harmful institution of gratuities in cooperation with the Hungarian Medical Chamber," Simicskó reminded. He also mentioned that there was a comprehensive, serious medical salary arrangement that had never been seen during the coronavirus epidemic, and that healthcare workers also received a significant salary increase.
