Csaba Dömötör, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office, refuted Jobbik President Péter Jakab's untrue statement in ten points that "the Hungarian state does not provide any assistance to the Hungarian and Ukrainian people of Subcarpathia fleeing Ukraine".

In a video published on his social media page, the Secretary of State detailed exactly what the Hungarian government is doing in this extraordinary situation for the Hungarian and Ukrainian people of Transcarpathia fleeing from Ukraine:

  1. immediate help points were established in many settlements along the border, the border crossing at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border was made 24 hours a day so that those in trouble could get across as soon as possible, the police also help with entry;
  2. they take care of the care of refugees, several settlements have 24-hour medical on-call, they also carry out COVID screening;
  3. disaster management organizes accommodation for those who require it;
  4. applications for refugee status can be submitted at the collection points, as well as at customer services in cities;
  5. transport assistance: MÁV made tickets free for refugees, and special trains were also started for them; Volánbusz also launched special buses;
  6. the government launched the 1357 helpline, through which more than half a billion forints in donations were collected;
  7. the government also helps those who remained in Ukraine: Hungary is sending HUF 600 million worth of food and other supplies, and has already sent 100,000 liters of fuel;
  8. the government provided 1.3 billion subsidies to large aid organizations, this amount can be increased;
  9. for more effective coordination, the government created the humanitarian council;
  10. a special working group helps refugees find work in Hungary.

What Péter Jakab claims is simply not true - concluded Csaba Dömötör.

Little by little, the noble is getting used to the fact that every word of Jakab's mouth is a lie. He is no longer bothered by the fact that, with the exception of his friends in principle, everyone spoke with appreciation about Hungary's handling of the refugee crisis. Just as a reminder: a few days ago, the vice-president of the European Commission, Margarítisz Szkínász, visited our country and said in Beregsurány:

"It is impressive to see that hundreds of Hungarian officials, civilians and citizens are present here, at the border and at the railway stations in Budapest, to provide assistance to those arriving from Ukraine. You are the glory of your country and the whole of Europe!"

"We are with Hungary and the Hungarian people, who generously opened the gates and welcomed with open arms those who fled the horrors of the war raging in Ukraine. I am shocked and deeply saddened by what is happening in our neighbor, the sister state of Ukraine, but at the same time I am filled with pride and emotion that the Union was able to show unity in the face of Russian aggression," added the Vice President of the European Commission
