As we reported , Miklós Kásler, the Minister of Human Resources, nominated Transylvanian Franciscan monk Csaba Böjte for the Nobel Peace Prize. Father Böjte spoke to TV2 about how he accepted the nomination.

I was very surprised, because it was actually the case that some months ago, Minister Kásler was a candidate, and just a few days ago, the confirmation came back from the committee that they accepted my nomination, they will indeed be considered in 2023 - said Csaba Böjte, who was informed by phone by the good news. The TV2 report reveals that the monk has been helping needy people and orphans for more than thirty years.

He first met orphaned children in a charity camp in Transylvania, and then decided to found an orphanage.

More than 2,500 children are cared for in the 26 boarding institutions founded by the father. According to him, the first thing to do is to create peace in a child who comes to them from the street, because "as long as someone is trembling, they will not learn the multiplication table or read homework." Under the management of Csaba Böjte, more than eighty orphanages operate, where 1,300 orphans are cared for. A few weeks ago, he took in families fleeing the war in Ukraine at a shelter in Hungary.

"I was there with them a few days ago, I visited them, I see that they are hot, they are infected, they are scared. I think that now we have to do everything to get a kindergarten and a school where they can fit in nicely and integrate, and they know quite a bit of Hungarian, right? But this is a challenge that has to be solved somehow wisely"

the monk thought.
