The church leaders held a celebratory mass and service in the morning at home as well. After two years, churches across the country were full again. According to the teachings of the Christian churches, Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the redemption of mankind with it.

"I know that you are looking for Jesus crucified, he is not here because he has risen as he told you."

We celebrate the miracle of life defeating death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the giver of life, which is a message of joy - the pastor president of the Synod of the Hungarian Reformed Church spoke about this at the festive service. Zoltán Balog emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes a new beginning, which encourages us to persevere, never give up and keep searching, because there is always hope for good.

"It is for the love of God that there is a new beginning. Both in you and between us. Let there be a new beginning after death, let there be a new beginning after destruction, let there be a new beginning after the war, let there be a new beginning after illness, let there be a new beginning after anger and hatred," said Zoltán Balog, Pastoral President of the Synod of the Hungarian Reformed Church .

"It's Easter Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ."

Péter Erdő presented the Easter Mass in the Esztergom Basilica. The Cardinal, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, thanked for the offerings and donations with which they helped the refugees in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of peace. He emphasized that Jesus Christ brought peace, and this peace is based on justice and love, so he asked for such peace for Hungary and the whole world.

"Jesus calls this peace his peace. He does not give us peace as the world can give us peace. Because the world often calls the victory and firm rule of the stronger one peace, even when injustice, lies, and oppression prevail. Jesus' peace is not like that. He brings the rule of complete justice and love," said Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest.

Péter Erdő pointed out: Something from the peace of Jesus can shine here on earth if we live in the faith and joy of the resurrected Christ. That is, if we imitate the love of Jesus and follow his teaching in our lives, if we see his face in the suffering and needy people.

"This day is the Lord's day, which he himself has obtained for us to rejoice and be glad."

Tamás Fabiny presented the Easter service in the Budavári Evangelical Church, where new believers were also baptized. The president-bishop of the Hungarian Evangelical Church spoke about how many times Good Friday still shakes people, but after Easter Sunday, the jubilation and devotion is no longer there.

"Do we go home, like someone who has done his job well, performed the holy act on Sunday, at the Divine Service, and then shut up? Let's not do that, my beloved brothers! Let us have the same momentum that Peter and the beloved disciple had there, and let us run with joy and shout to the world: Christ is risen, he is truly risen, because believe me, my beloved brothers, the world is waiting for this good news," stressed Tamás Fabiny . President of the Hungarian Evangelical Church.
