In a telegram sent to the Vatican, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán commemorated XVI. About Pope Emeritus Benedict, highlighted: he will forever remain in our memory as an example of high spirituality - informed Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press chief.

The Prime Minister emphasized:

XVI. Benedict will always be remembered for his courage and commitment to interfaith dialogue.

In his letter, the Hungarian Prime Minister recalls with gratitude his private interrogation with Pope Benedict in 2010. He added that their conversations about faith, the sanctity of the family and the importance of protecting our common Christian roots have strongly influenced his views ever since.

"Now, in this time of mourning, we join in the prayers and express our sincere condolences to the clergy and faithful of the Catholic Church"

Viktor Orbán wrote in his telegram to the Vatican.
