Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén evaluated the national policy of the past 12 years as a success story in Budapest.

Zsolt Semjén recalled at the presentation of the book Acting nation - the resources of reunification 2010-2022 that in 2010 the national policy had to be built from scratch as a result of the destruction of the Gyurcsány government. In this way, they were able to rethink national politics from the ground up.

He emphasized: the meaning and purpose of the Hungarian state is to preserve the Hungarian nation.

The Hungarian nation can survive if all parts of the nation survive and the quality of life improves, including the Hungarians of the Carpathian Basin and the Diaspora. Four pillars are necessary for the survival of the national regions, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out.

First of all, he emphasized the support of identity preservation, emphasizing that the system of educational institutions abroad is basically maintained by the Hungarian state. Institutions of national importance are supported on a subjective basis, and funds are also provided through tenders. The government has "shifted subsidies" towards the former, he pointed out, adding: it decides about institutions of national importance for Ma.

He indicated: subsidies aimed at preserving identity have been expanded more than tenfold.

Secondly, he highlighted the preferential naturalization, by which Hungarians living abroad became full-fledged Hungarian citizens with the right to vote.

Well over 1.1 million people took advantage of the opportunity, and thus the unification of the nation under public law could be realized, said Zsolt Semjén.

He also touched on the economic support of Hungarians living abroad, underlining that "enormous sums" went to all parts of the nation. This is also important from an economic and political point of view, for example, in Vojvodina, an investment of HUF generated another HUF increase, and in the Hungarian economy, every HUF invested brought an expansion of fifty HUF, he added.

Finally, he highlighted the support of Hungarian parties abroad. Hungary will never let go of the hand of the ethnic Hungarian parties, he declared, adding: the closest national interest is for the Hungarian parties to be present in local governments and parliaments and, if possible, to play a governmental role.
