6,092 people entered the territory of Hungary at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border section on Saturday, and 5,484 of those who entered the Romanian-Hungarian border section declared that they came from Ukraine, the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) told MTI on Sunday.

In a statement from the National Police Headquarters, it was written that among those admitted, the police issued temporary residence certificates to 414 people, which are valid for 30 days. They must visit the office of the National Directorate General of Immigration, which is competent according to their place of residence, to obtain the final documents. Furthermore, the announcement also mentions that 427 people, including 170 children, arrived in Budapest by train on Saturday before the war in Ukraine. The Budapest Police Headquarters announced on Sunday on the police.hu website that it is assisting refugees arriving by train from Ukraine with the Emergency Police and those participating in police patrol training, and the Budapest Civil Guard Association is also providing support in these tasks.

The police are in constant contact with the National Directorate General of Disaster Prevention, the National Directorate General of Immigration, the Hungarian State Railways Ltd., the Budapest Transport Center, the Police Directorate of the Metropolitan Municipality, the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest, as well as with the staff of the relief organizations, the announcement states.
