The Balassi sword has arrived in Rome: the Hungarian-founded international literary award was received by Romanian translator Elena Lavinia Dumitru in the hall of the seminary in downtown Pest on Valentine's Day, February 14.

The Bálint Balassi memorial sword was presented for the 26th time this year, the Hungarian poet Bence Lajos was the Lendva poet. Since it is questionable to transport an edged weapon on an airplane, the saber was delivered to Elena Lavinia Dumitru Pálk Molnár .

The Balassi small sculpture of the world-leading Herend Porcelain Manufactory also reached the eternal city on this road . Simon Attila handed it over to the writer who translated the Balassi poems into Romanian.

As the Bálint Balassi memorial sword Armando Nuzzo , two Balassi swords now shine in the eternal city.

The Hungarian-founded international literary award has reached all five continents – North and South America – and has honored writers from more than twenty countries so far.
