Homosexual couples will now be married in Scotland's largest Protestant church, the Church of Scotland. In the vote on this matter, the followers of the Christian tradition were left behind by a ratio of two-thirds to one-third, reports vasarnap.hu.

Scotland's largest Protestant church has been debating whether to open up the institution of marriage to same-sex couples for years. Although the church's centuries-old tradition clearly states that marriage is between a man and a woman, the woke ideology has prevailed. From now on, same-sex couples will be joined in the Church of Scotland.

Members of the Edinburgh Assembly voted 274:136 to allow same-sex couples to marry. The decision stipulates that although such marriages are possible within the church, deacons and priests cannot be forced to perform the ceremony.

A journalist from The Daily Wire was outraged by the incident. He considers it incomprehensible that all this could have happened in a church that has seriously followed what is contained in the scriptures. Despite this, the following quote can still be read on the church's website:

"Our faith is based on the Old and New Testaments and the Westminster Confession."

At the same time, neither the Holy Scriptures nor the Westminster Confession can be found in any part that can be interpreted as supporting homosexual marriage.

The Daily Wire, the Westminster Confession of Faith "legitimizes homosexual marriage as much as a man and a frog do." He adds that he does not want to compare the two with this, he just wants to convey the thought process of the document's creators.

According to the journalist, instead of setting an example to the world and trying to return it to the right path, the Scottish Church is trying to adapt to the world, thereby turning its back on the teaching of the Bible.

In 2011, The Guardian already reported that the Church of Scotland had opened the priesthood to homosexual men and women.

Those who do not agree with the innovative decisions usually decide to leave the church. This increases the chance that similar innovations will take place within the church in the future.
