Once again, the Day of the Thousand Székely Girls could be organized without restrictions. The celebration of the Day of the Thousand Székely Maidens is traditionally held on the first Saturday of July in the Csíksomlyó saddle, at the Hármashalom altar. For more than 80 years, the event was created with the intention of preserving the Székely folk costume and the Catholic religion.

Even today, the celebration aims to create an opportunity for the preservation and transmission of Székelyföld's cultural heritage, folk songs, folk dances, folk music and folk costumes, as well as the meeting of tradition-preserving groups and performers.

The host of the 91st event, on behalf of the municipalities of Csíkpálfalva and Csíkdelne, mayor Csaba Ferencz said: he is happy that after two years we can celebrate in full splendor. According to him, even with this event, we are "fighting for our survival, as this is our heritage", since many people try to claim that Székelyföld does not exist.

Attila Korodi, the mayor of Csíkszereda, emphasized in his celebratory speech that preserving our Christian roots and traditions is important even in today's world. "It is no coincidence that at that time the Community of Social Brothers, the Catholic Women's Association and Péter Pál Domokos invited the participants right here, to the Hármashalom altar. The event is now a real cultural community experience, but at the time the goal was to preserve the Catholic religion and to attract girls working abroad. According to him, the Day of the Thousand Székely Maidens and the Day of Dress before it are the holidays that create an opportunity for us to stop, wear the clothes of our ancestors, sing the ancient melodies, pray, and let our feet and hearts beat together to the ancient rhythms played by the musicians. . "It creates an opportunity to live, even though we are different, just like the different types of Székely folk costumes, we belong together. It creates an opportunity to experience the sustaining power of tradition and faith. These are tools that, no matter what happens in the world, will always be a part of us, always stay with us, and always recharge. We often say that clothes don't make a person, but what you wear does matter. It's the same with clothing. The moment we put it on, whether it's just a shirt, a vest or a skirt, we change. Our posture will be a little straighter, we will behave a little more dignified, we will greet with a kind smile those who come to meet us in costume. Not to mention that when the prayer, singing and music start, our souls really soar. We need our traditions and the sustaining power of our community, the mayor of Csíkszereda emphasized.
