France and Britain face "serious problems" if they cannot decide whether they are friends or enemies, Emmanuel Macron has said. The French president also added that the United Kingdom will always remain an ally for Paris, regardless of who leads it.

This was the French president's reaction to the fact that the candidate for the British prime minister's seat came hard.

Indeed, Liz Truss said on Thursday that "the jury is still out on whether the French president is friend or foe."

Macron explained that he would not hesitate for a minute if the question was whether France is a friend of the British. He added that the United Kingdom is a strong ally of France, regardless of, and sometimes in spite of, its leaders, whatever mistakes they make in a speech."

Britain's former ambassador to Paris said Truss's comments were ill-advised, adding that he hoped he was only joking, though he insisted it was a very bad joke.

The only thing missing from political life, and from this chaotic world, is this lady who likes to push buttons. Nowadays, we can only sense all this among EU leaders, who are constantly moving their tongues under the blanket of ignorance.
