The National Pastoral Institute is again organizing the National Pastoral-Theological Days from November 17 to 19, from early Thursday afternoon to Saturday noon, when the meeting ends with lunch. The event is hosted by the Szent Adalbert Event Center in Esztergom (2500 Esztergom, Szent István tér 10.).

At the event, domestic and international Hungarian pastors and their direct colleagues meet. The conference provides an opportunity to get to know each other and exchange experiences.

The motto and title of the National Pastoral and Theological Days 2022: "Let them all be one!" » (Jn 17,21) The cooperation of the faithful and priests on the synodal path.

In the opening presentation of the conference, Csaba Török, MKPK television reporter and theology teacher, undertakes the theological foundation of the topic in his presentation Community, participation, mission - The synodal process in our Church. This is followed by the presentation of Miklós Papp, a Greek Catholic parish priest and college teacher, titled Cooperation between the priest and the faithful towards moral perfection.

On Friday, lay members of the Emmanuel community invite participants to a forum discussion: What does the priest expect from the faithful, and vice versa, and what does he not expect?

Also during the morning, Bishop László Varga of Kaposvár shares his personal thoughts under the title Cooperation of laymen and priests through the eyes of a bishop.

The parish priest Zsolt Gulyás of Karcág and the parish priest András Babály of Nyírbátor invite the participants to an interactive discussion under the title Solutions to help communication between priests and the laity.

On the closing day, they look for good practices for cooperation between lay people and priests, and with some pre-developed, fruitful thematic material, "semi-prepared meals", secular speakers prepare for services and trainings conducted together with the faithful, which are worth trying.

In addition to the lectures and discussions, there will be mass, adoration, psalms, and the meals are planned for a longer period of time, because they have already experienced that this occasion can be very fruitful for moving forward, towards solutions. All these programs can help everyone to find their own role and task in this topic, and to return home to their parish.

The conference closes with joint thanksgiving, looking back, and testimony.
