Momentum went silent on the XI. at the December council meeting of the district municipality. Earlier, the party's parliamentary representative, Anna Orosz, and eleven local government representatives from Újbuda threatened Imré László, the district's mayor from the south, with the withdrawal of their support. Now, however, they have not even consented to the termination of the agreements concluded with the Czeglédy and Partners Law Firm. It has been proven; Momentum lost the fight against DK, the Gyurcsánys do whatever they want with them.

- There was no sign of withdrawal of support, not a single proposal was voted down, the mayor was excused - this is how Fidesz faction leader László Szabó summarized what happened at the last council of the year in Újbuda for the Magyar Nemzet.

Known, Budapest XI. a conflict also arose in his district between the Democratic Coalition (DK) and the Momentum Movement. Mayor Imre László of the Gyurcsány party took former MSZP president Gyula Molnár as his cabinet chief. The hiring of Molnár, who previously ran the Buda district as mayor for several terms and is now a member of the Democratic Party, caused a great uproar even within the district's left-wing coalition.

In Újbuda, in 2019, the six-party opposition coalition won a majority in the representative body, but the cooperation soon began to fragment here as well. Anna Orosz (Momentum), who won an opposition mandate in the parliamentary election in the district that is one of Momentum's main bases, was then recaptured by Fidesz-KDNP in a by-election, and Momentum's positions continued to deteriorate against the DK in line with the national trend.

The XI. In the end, the district Momentum threatened the mayor in an open letter with the withdrawal of support at the board meeting in December if he did not stop employing Gyula Molnár.

- They did not fulfill their threat, the left-wing representatives praised the work of Mayor Imre László at the board meeting, they almost exalted the district leader - László Szabó commented on what happened at the board meeting. According to the leader of the faction, although there was dislike on the part of Momentum, there was no sign of this in the decision-making, they did not even speak to the issues, this may have been the agreement between the parties of the left.

He added: Gyula Molnár participated in yesterday's board meeting as chief of staff, and accompanied Mayor Imre László as a shadow to the Metropolitan Assembly meeting on Wednesday.

The XI. spectacular elements of a larger, nationally intensifying conflict took place in the district. The Gyurcsánys are methodically trying to demote Momentum to second fiddle within the left, one of the main locations in this process being Újbuda. It is worth remembering that in the summer, Momentum blackmailed the DK by refusing to appoint the new deputy mayor of the DK, Anett Bősz, but now it seems to have completely given up its positions within the left.
