Instead of the European Union dealing with meaningful issues, the search for new energy sources, and the development of infrastructure, the last few months have been spent in the misfortune of the gas price cap, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on Monday in Brussels.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, at the press conference following the meeting of the EU energy ministers, the head of the ministry reported that Hungary does not under any circumstances support the introduction of a price cap for natural gas, as it is a "harmful, dangerous and completely unnecessary" measure.

According to his words, the community wants to react to events that happened in August, and it only proves the needlessness of the introduction that the continent has been doing well without the price cap since then. "In addition, ordering the limit could lead to a price increase, on the one hand due to the reduction of the available quantity, and on the other hand, because its level would be raised above the current market price," warned the head of the ministry.
