Beer crates were hurled, fireworks were fired, pistols held to the face and fire extinguishers were attacked en masse on ambulance and fire brigades, as well as the police in Berlin, causing serious injuries, on New Year's Eve. Before the holidays, the Berlin police received new communication guidelines, which banned the use of many terms related to migrants.

Berlin's rescue and fire brigades were "shocked and sad" to learn that their units were hit by a series of massive and brutal attacks on New Year's Eve. The German newspaper Focus cites the posts of disaster prevention, rescue and fire brigades, according to them

they were faced with massive attacks carried out with very brutal means

marching to the sites of riots and arson. According to news reports, the police were also attacked and brutally assaulted.

You mention "someone" barricades

The paper cites the notes of the ambulance and fire brigades on New Year's Eve: "Looting of ambulances by hooded persons", "15 injured ambulance workers, one of them hospitalized", "An eye injury to an emergency worker caused by pepper spray and a blunt object", "Targeted firing of pyrotechnic devices at a fire during operations".

We learn about the attacks on the retreating formations: people who were not described in detail in the reports of the German newspapers "threw crates of beer and fire extinguishers at the vehicles". "Obstructing intervention measures with barricades" suggests that the rioters even erected roadblocks. The unnamed persons set cars on fire: "several vehicles were seriously damaged with pyrotechnic devices".

There were also "shootings" and "guns to the face"

Deutsche Welle (DW), also avoiding the disclosure of any information indicating the affiliation of the rioters, adds: according to the Berlin fire department's statement on Sunday, the employees of the emergency service were attacked 38 times on New Year's Eve.

Hundreds of incidents in Berlin and Hamburg

The fire department, writes DW, prepared for the situation in light of previous attacks, but they were surprised by "the number and intensity of attacks against the emergency services". Firefighters were called to hundreds of incidents and often "encountered violence".

in Germany's second largest city,

In Hamburg, fire officials said the night was "horrendous" and emergency services were "aggressively approached"

and "literally shot" with the fireworks.

The silenced police protest

The failure to name the identity of the attackers can be attributed, among other things, to the fact that - as Breitbart, which called the prescribed language forms Orwellian neologism, reported - on December 19, the Berlin police received new communication guidelines, which prohibited the use of many expressions related to migrants.

The German GdP police union demanded stricter punishment for the perpetrators of attacks against emergency personnel.

"We cannot accept the increasing brutality of attacks on rescue workers and police," GdP representative Andreas Rosskopf told the Rheinische Post newspaper.

The methods of rioters are typical

Known: in France

migrant groups regularly attack the police with fireworks and firecrackers.

This is not the first case in Germany since 2015, when huge crowds of migrants were allowed in on a limited basis.

On New Year's Eve 2015, for example, young men of North African and Middle Eastern origin harassed and assaulted women in groups in Cologne, Germany.

around the main station. The incident later became known as Cologne's Black New Year's Eve. The German national press did not publish news about the events until 4-5 days later.
