Speaking of cannibalization, Párbeszéd bid farewell to its party director on Friday, suggesting in their statement that Ferenc Gyurcsány had wooed Olivio Kocsis-Cake with some position.
The momentary Tamás VI of Sopron. could offer his district mayor's seat to the Párbeszéd party director in the DK. With this, Ferenc Gyurcsány could kill two birds with one stone: they could put Momentum and Mayor Gergely Karácsony under pressure. So far, Olivio Kocsis-Cake has not answered the question about what position he was promised, the neighboring VII. in the district, however, the Gyurcsánys lured a dialogue politician to them with a similar deal.
In 2018, the former Member of Parliament, who received Gergely Karácsony's list mandate, did not respond to this accusation on ATV's Friday evening program, even though he was specifically asked what position he was offered at the Democratic Coalition.
Looking at the movements within the left, however, it is likely that Kocsis-Caké was offered a specific position in the European Parliament or local government in the Gyurcsány party.
DK currently has four EP representatives, Klára Dobrev, Csaba Molnár, Sándor Rónai and Attila Ara-Kovács. The politician who came in the top three places in 2019 was also assigned a position in the shadow government, however, Ara-Kovács, who is seventy-one years old, is not an overly active politician, it would not be surprising if he was sent to retire or placed in another position after 2024, and with Olivio Kocsis-Cake, Brussels could be rejuvenated their delegation Ferenc Gyurcsány. The case of Péter Niedermüller was similar, who was called home after an EP cycle in 2019, and finally the VII. was launched as mayor in the district.
Niedermüller finally survived, as he was elected as the head of Erzsébetváros in the fall of 2019, and in a recent interview he announced that he will run for the position again in 2024. At that time, another interesting detail about DK's expansion strategy was dropped by the VII. district mayor.

Kocsis-Cake Olivio is the VI-VII. he ran in the opposition primary election in 2021 in a national individual constituency that includes the district. The outspoken politician then quickly stepped back in favor of Lajos Oláh from DK, who won the parliamentary election after the primary election. It is quite possible that the Gyurcsánys then demoted Kocsis-Cake with the promise of a district mayor's title.
The VII. DK already dominates in the district, VI. in the district, on the other hand, the mayor of the moment is Tamás Soproni. It is quite possible that Olivio Kocsis-Cake, who is an ally of Gergely Karácsony, was offered the temporary position of district leader, who announced his transfer to the Gyurcsány party because of this.
The DK would thus kill two birds with one stone: it could put pressure on Momentum and Mayor Gergely Karácsony, whose co-chairman in the Association of Budapest Municipalities is the current VI. district mayor.
