The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, did not leave the words of the President of the United States unspoken, who voted in favor of allowing gender reassignment surgeries at the federal level in an interview, reports the Christian Post.

Joe Biden did not elaborate on exactly which laws he was referring to when he said that it was "guilty" that the laws that apply to trans-identified "kids who have to face these regressive state laws," Florida previously passed a law that el, which bans trans male athletes from competing on women's sports teams, and the Florida Medical Association bans hormonal drugs and gender reassignment surgery for youth.

Biden proposed that the federal government pass legislation that would prohibit states from regulating these areas on their own. DeSantis fired back on Twitter, writing:

"it is not a "crime" to prohibit the mutilation of minors. It is not acceptable for the federal government to mandate that procedures such as gender reassignment surgery be made compulsory for children”.

Concern over the cruelty of irreversible gender reassignment surgeries is one reason why

Florida and seven other states have passed laws banning experimental procedures.

Puberty blockers and hormones, which are often prescribed to children who express gender confusion, have long-term adverse effects on patients' mental, physical, and emotional health.

Polls consistently show that a majority of Americans support banning gender reassignment procedures on minors. A Rasmussen Reports poll released last month found 58% support "legislation to make sex-change surgery on minors illegal," while 34% opposed such laws.
