The deadline for personal income tax returns ends at midnight today, and all central customer services of the tax office will be open until 6 p.m., as well as the telephone NAV Infoline, with extended opening hours until 8 p.m. and Customs Office (NAV) in its statement sent to MTI.

It is announced that until midnight on May 22, you can review, accept, modify and add to the draft tax declaration prepared by the NAV, which can be done most simply by those with a customer portal on the interface available on the NAV website. Those who do not finalize the draft or review it, with the exception of primary producers, VAT-registered individuals and sole proprietors, their draft will automatically become a valid return as of May 22.

It was emphasized that the draft declaration prepared for primary producers, private individuals obliged to pay VAT and sole proprietors is only an "offer", which does not automatically become a declaration. These drafts must be supplemented with income from entrepreneurial, self-employed, or primary producer activities, and related payment obligations. In this round, if the draft tax return is not supplemented or modified, it will not become a personal income tax return on May 22.

If they do not amend their draft return, or do not prepare and submit a tax return themselves, NAV will call them with a deadline of fifteen days to make up the shortfall. If this is not done, the NAV can fine the defaulting primary producer, the private person obliged to pay VAT, or the individual entrepreneur with a default fine of HUF 50,000, the NAV pointed out.

The statutory declaration on the 1+1 percentages that can be offered to civil organizations, religious communities and the National Talent Program can be submitted in the easiest way on the NAV eSZJA interface until midnight on Monday, the tax office informed.
