Gergely Karácsony spoke about this in the Telex video . The mayor also said that he would be "surprised" if the Democratic Coalition had an independent candidate for the post of mayor in next year's election. According to Karácsony, if the DK were to launch an independent candidate, then
"it would turn out that DK is not such a big party after all".
According to the mayor, DK does not want this to happen.
"It is feared that it will not receive as many votes as it could support the fact that the DK is a strong party"
he said. According to Karácsony, that won't happen as now is "the time when everyone is ruffling their feathers to look a little bit bigger".
Nevertheless, according to him, there will be an agreement between the opposition parties in the autumn. He added that he will do everything to ensure that the DK mayoral candidates gain the trust of the voters in their own district.
