The vice-president of the European Commission, the Czech Vera Jourová, who has regularly attacked the Hungarian government in recent years, does not plan to run for a third term. Jourová is not the only anti-Hungarian politician who has left or will leave Brussels at the end of her term, Magyar Nemzet writes.

You know, after ten years it might be time for a little political detox

- said Vera Jourová, EU Commissioner for Values and Transparency, who served two terms in the European Commission, at the event of Politico Jourova's statement is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that her party, ANO, is currently in opposition in the Czech Republic, so it is doubtful that the current government would nominate her for the position of commissioner. The vice-chairman of the committee left open the question of whether he would return to domestic political life.

Vera Jourová joined the European Commission in 2014, as a candidate of former Prime Minister Andrej Babis, then she dealt with justice and gender equality.

Even then, she maintained close relations with György Soros' circles, so much so that during the five years of the term until 2019, Jourová and her team participated in official meetings no less than 18 times with the Soros Open Society Foundation and other pseudo-civilian organizations connected to the American billionaire .

In the current committee established in 2019, European values, transparency and the rule of law are the responsibility of the Czech vice president. In connection with the latter task, he is the main person responsible for the rule of law proceedings against Hungary, and has attacked the Hungarian government countless times.

One of his most provocative statements was when he called our country a "sick democracy" in 2020.

In response, Viktor Orbán addressed a letter to Ursula von der Leyen, in which he informed the chairman of the committee that he would suspend bilateral political relations with Jourová due to her statements insulting Hungary and the Hungarian people, and at the same time called on the vice-president to resign.

The politician, who was so keenly concerned about the rule of law, did not escape accusations of corruption. In 2006, he was arrested at the Prague airport because, according to the suspicion, he accepted a bribe of two million Czech crowns from the EU grant intended for the renovation of the Budisov castle, as the Czech government's deputy state secretary responsible for regional development.

Jourová spent 33 days in pre-trial detention,

however, the prosecution later terminated the proceedings against him due to lack of evidence. Later, he sued the Czech state for compensation of 300,000 kroner, of which he received 120,000 kroner.

The Czech politician is not the only Hungarian-hating EU commissioner who has left or will leave Brussels at the end of the term. As we reported,

Frans Timmermans returned to the Netherlands to become the left's candidate for prime minister, and in his place, foreign minister Wopke Hoekstra, who is also hostile to the Hungarians, was nominated.

He is famous for living a life of luxury and advocating austerity

Belgian Guy Verhofstadt announced in May that he will not be a candidate in next year's European Parliament elections and will retire from politics.

The EU commissioner, who constantly attacks Hungary, has been involved in several scandals in recent years, starting with his luxury villa renovated with public funds and ending with his suspiciously high "side income", but his name has also surfaced in an offshore scandal.

Also leaving the political stage is Sophie in 't Veld,

is the Dutch MEP representative of the Renew family, who has been a member of the European Parliament since 2004. The Dutch representative was one of the fiercest critics of the Hungarian government's migration policy in Brussels, but he did not treat the Poles with a gloved hand either.

However, there are still quite a few anti-Hungarian politicians in the ranks of the EU, for example Daniel Freund should be mentioned at the beginning of the list.

The German member of the European Parliament from the Green Party seems to have singled out Hungary for himself, he writes hateful posts about our country on the X-platform every day. And another Green Party MEP, the French Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield - who has already condemned our country in her report - considers it one of her most important tasks that, immediately after the summer break, they should start working on a resolution on how to ban our country from holding the consecutive presidency of the Union .
