A German travel magazine ranked the world's countries from an LGBTQI point of view, and Hungary did not finish at the top.

This year's Gay Travel Index has been published, which a German travel magazine, Spartacus, publishes every year, ranking the countries of the world from an LGBTQI point of view. The creators of the "filling the gap" publication examine, among other things, the rights of intersex people, or the legal situation of re-educational therapies, but the index also includes a censorship category, which takes into account laws such as the ban on the use of rainbow flags or the distribution of books with LGBTQ content.

In addition to these, they are also measured in more general categories such as anti-discrimination laws, transgender rights, adoption and the legal recognition of cohabitation of same-sex couples, the description reads.

The humenonline.hu can't help but complain about how badly Hungary performed in this area, the situation even improved in Serbia and Ukraine, and they all achieved a higher ranking than last year.

Canada, Malta, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain all scored 12 points on the list, followed by Australia and Switzerland in joint second place with 11 points.

We got minus five points, which was enough for the 93rd place, in a tie with Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Peru, for example.

The author of the article can hardly hide his disappointment: ten years ago, in 2014, Hungary was still in 40th place.

At the end of the list are countries such as Russia and Nigeria (-17 points), Uganda and Somalia (-18 points), Yemen (-19 points), and Saudi Arabia, Chechnya, Iran and Afghanistan (-21 points). .

In the past few days, however, a similar research has already been published, which listed the safest countries from a queer point of view.
