During the holiday season, overbuying is an even bigger problem than usual.

The No Leftover program of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) is once again announcing the traditional Easter greening competition, for which applications are accepted until April 5. The goal of the three-category competition is to ensure that, in addition to following folk customs and family traditions, the prevention of food waste should also be a consideration during the holiday season.

Entries are invited in three categories: egg painting, sprinkler poem writing, leftover recipes.

Linked to the basic objectives of the program, egg painting and decoration techniques are expected this time, which support the creative use of food waste, which at the same time results in beautiful male eggs.

In addition, the writing of sprinkler poems encouraging the reduction of food waste cannot be missed this year, which in the past has been particularly popular among both children and adults.

The third category allows for the promotion of creative, leftover-saving recipes. By sharing their unique recipes, the applicants can contribute to the shaping of attitudes so that not a single morsel from the abundant festive tables is wasted. In addition to the valuable prize, the best leftover-saving recipe ideas can also be included in the Easter recipe collection compiled by Nébih.

The Greening Easter competition is open for entries in all of the announced categories until April 5.

According to the call's website, an applicant can submit a maximum of 3 entries per category, and children under 14 can participate with parental consent. The prizes and the registration interface were published on the Nébih website. The office's Easter food rescue ideas can also be viewed on the website.
