Poles and Hungarians are two good friends - says a saying exemplifying the historical friendship of the two peoples. The two nations celebrate the thousand-year-old relationship every year on March 23. The Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day is being commemorated by the public media with numerous programs this year as well.

In 2007, the Parliament and the Polish Sejm declared March 23 the Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day. Throughout history, the two peoples have proven several times that they can count on each other.

Commemorating this exemplary bond, Duna World presents the Hungarian documentary Hitchhiking to Freedom on March 23 at 8:25 a.m., which recalls the beginning of the 1960s, when the rules related to travel were relaxed in Hungary. The exploration of the surrounding countries began, the most attractive destination for young people was the "land of freedom", Poland.

The day ends with the Polish documentary Hungarians in Warsaw starting at 11:45 p.m., which shows how Hungarian troops helped the Poles during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising.

At that time, the Hungarian nation not only solved food and accommodation within moments, but also the necessary health care.

The writer and poet, awarded with the Polish Order of Cultural Merit, will be the guest of the portrait program "The Great" on March 22 from 7:30 p.m. On March 23, the historical magazine show "It Happened 100 Years Ago" is also connected to this day. One of the winners of the peace treaties around Paris, the newly reconstituted and combat-trained Poland, and the consolidating Hungary, which was hit by the Trianon Dictator and lost a lot in the battles. What connected these two states in the eventful 1920s can be found out in the program starting at 11:35 p.m.
