Vera Jourová, the vice-president of the European Commission, once again threatened Hungary and Poland with the suspension of EU subsidies. to Bloomberg , he also spoke about his hope that the rule of law process could be successful this year, even before next year's Hungarian parliamentary elections. The international news agency (hopefully) noted that the financial penalties could affect the right-wing government's re-election chances.
"This year, the European Union may start punishing violators of the rule of law with a new sanctioning instrument, as a result of which those affected may lose billions of euros," stated Vera Jourová and outlined a loophole solution that, according to her, would allow member states that go against the mainstream, namely Hungary and Punishing Poland. "One option is to freeze the 1.8 trillion euro fund before disbursement," outlined Jourová, who stated that the committee is determined to sanction the recalcitrant country, and that she herself is helping to develop the concept.
The interesting thing is that last December, during the discussion of the seven-year budget, the heads of state and government of the European Union approved that the withdrawal of the money from Brussels cannot be tied to vague political and ideological (gender, immigration, etc.) conditions. As is known, according to the agreement, the budget of the European Union will be 1,074 billion euros in the period between 2021-2027, and the member states also decided on an economic stimulus fund of 750 billion euros.

Zoltán Kovács, the state secretary responsible for international communications and relations , said to Világgazdaság , "a faithful ally of György Soros, seems to have to prove her hatred of Hungarians week after week, which offends Hungary and the Hungarian people." Brussels should rather deal with botched vaccine procurement.

Judit Varga , wrote in her Facebook post that Vera Jourová expressed her specific expectations of the Court of Justice of the European Union and expects a decision from the body in the summer regarding the conditionality claim.

"I never thought," he writes, "that Jourová's hatred of Hungary and Poland would go so far as to put political pressure on the EU Court of Justice, virtually instructing the Luxembourg body to make a decision. We ask the left-liberal politicians to stop blackmailing those countries that still stand for traditional values in the face of the left-wing mainstream. Communities instead of individuals, independent nation-states instead of multiculturalism, traditional male-female roles instead of hundreds of different genders. These are values that they want to destroy in Brussels with rule of law blackmail and sanctions," the minister wrote.
