Gergely Gulyás, head of the Prime Minister's Office, said that more than 4.8 million people had already received the first vaccination, while 2.8 million had received the second vaccination.

The government has decided that it does not want to participate in the next chapter of vaccine procurement in Brussels. It has ordered more than 10 million vaccines by the end of 2022. The vaccination process will slow down a lot above 5 million, and perhaps at a very optimistic estimate it could reach 6 million.

It will only be possible to revaccinate everyone with a Western vaccine if necessary, said Gulyás.

Only 19 million Pfizer vaccines could be ordered , and it is impossible to know whether this will be needed, said Gulyás. We will not participate in this 120 billion dollar adventure , since on the one hand there is enough vaccine, and on the other hand there will be a vaccine factory in Debrecen.

In Europe, the level of vaccination has not yet reached the Hungarian level. The Indian mutant has not yet appeared in Hungary, said Gulyás. The emergence of mutants is still a potential source of danger, he added. Viktor Orbán will explain the next steps.

Gergely Gulyás said that the situation has now arisen that anyone who registers will receive the vaccine very soon. Fewer people book appointments than are available, he added. In the past, it was the right decision for someone not to receive a vaccine for three months after infection. From now on, there is no obstacle to vaccinating those who recovered from the disease earlier than three months ago, he added. The extraordinary legal order will remain as long as it is needed, said Gulyás.
