The Hungarian women's junior handball team won the European Championship held in Celje with a flawless performance, defeating the Russian national team 31-22 in Sunday's final.

According to the website of the European Federation (EHF), the defending champion Hungarian national team led 17-11 at the break, and was able to further increase its advantage in the second half.
The most successful player in the final was Johanna Farkas with seven hits. The Hungarian team marched to the final success with 100% performance, as in the group stage they beat Romania (27-19), the Czech Republic (33-20) and Norway (36-26), and in the semi-finals France (20-16) and Croatia (35-24) also won against at the Slovenian continental tournament. In the semi-final, they beat Sweden 33-26.

Szilárd Kiss Jr.'s team won the junior continental championship in 2018 and the junior European championship in 2019 - the website of the Hungarian Federation (MKSZ) pointed out - so it still only has gold from the world competitions.
