Péter Márki-Zay, the joint prime ministerial candidate of the Hungarian opposition parties, boasts the support of the Székely organization with an obscure background, which denies the virus in the current dramatic epidemic situation and conveys anti-vaccination messages, reports kronikaonline.ro .

The current mayor of Hódmezővásárhely has highlighted the World Association of the Székelys as one of the supporters of his campaign on several occasions. In his "victory" speech after the primary election of the opposition, the politician also thanked the association for its support, after he thought he had discovered a Székely flag among those who supported him.

Pál Zsigmond Barna, a member of the Fidesz parliament in his article published on the Hungarian portal Mandiner , states that "the veil has fallen, because on Márki-Zay út, who presents himself as a democrat, he repeatedly refers to the organization called the Székely World Federation as his ally in national issues, which, to put it mildly, is dubious background". According to the Ministerial Commissioner responsible for coordinating the activities of the foreign missions in the Carpathian Basin

this organization has already committed several anti-Hungarian provocations in recent years.

He pointed out that the name of the ally of the mayor of Hódmezővásárhely is linked to actions such as the referendum initiative to recognize the Székelys as an independent nationality, but from time to time they also cause confusion in Romania when, during the period of censuses, motions are made to recognize the Székelys as an independent nationality.

This is an old Sekous trick, based on the "finding" of the Romanian nationalist historian and politician Nicolae Iorga that the Székely people are actually explained Romanians.

And what every nationalist, Hungarian-hating Romanian organization tried after Ceauşescu, so far without success. The sole purpose of this endeavor is to break up and divide the Transylvanian Hungarian community and thereby reduce their ability to assert their interests, for example in the area of community-language rights," said the politician, who previously served as the Consul General of Hungary in Csikszereda.

Pál Zsigmond Barna, born in Marosvásárhely, reminds us that the vice president of the organization is Csibi Barna, who publicly burned an effigy representing Avram Iancu and put up a poster in Csíkszereda with the following text: "Shame on you, you bought from a Jew again!" This grouping is the ally of the left-wing prime ministerial candidate and his reference point in matters of national politics, notes the Fidesz representative in his letter.

On the Facebook page of the World Federation of Székelys, posts have appeared in recent weeks almost exclusively insulting Viktor Orbán in a street-side tone, questioning the origin of the Hungarian prime minister, and glorifying Péter Márki-Zay.

The organization emphasized several times: they received a promise from the Hódmezővásárhely politician that he would support the recognition of the Szeklers as an independent nationality.
