Due to the declared state of emergency, the restrictions also apply to those who come to the territory of Slovakia from abroad, said Denisa Bárdyová, the spokesperson of the National Police Headquarters (PPZ), and announced that those outside the so-called external borders, i.e. the Ukrainian border, as well as the Schengen area on air flights from countries, each passenger will be checked by the police to determine whether the purpose of the trip meets the exception to the curfew.

"If a violation of the curfew is established, an on-the-spot fine of up to 1,000 euros can be imposed," Bárdyová added.

According to the spokesperson, the police carry out random checks at internal border crossings.

" The police at the Austrian, Hungarian, Polish and Czech borders check whether those entering the territory of the country comply with the mandatory quarantine. Road crossings belonging to the third category and all other borders, such as green borders, bicycle paths and river crossings, are checked on a random basis," Bárdyová added.
