The family organizations' Advent charity collection has ended, the residents of the Lea home will be helped with the collected more than two million forints, the organizers informed MTI on Thursday.

The Club of Young Families, the Ficsak 11 Foundation, as well as almost thirty family and non-governmental organizations started fundraising to help the temporary home of the Leány, Mother, Child Foundation (Lea) families so that mothers who are forced to flee from abuse can find a safe shelter with their children, they said.

For fifteen years, the institution has been helping young mothers coming from difficult social circumstances, most of whom come to the home fleeing serious abuse and life-threatening threats.

The family organizations will allocate the entire proceeds of their Advent collection to the construction of a new family home, which was supported by approximately two hundred donors with slightly more than two million forints, they explained.

The campaign's main patron this year was Anita Herczegh, the wife of the president of the republic, who made wreaths, knockers and table decorations with her daughter Júlia Áder, thereby contributing to the success of the collection. The income from the sale of the decorations was more than HUF 350,000. And the organizers of the Ringató series of events organized a live, online charity concert, whose participants could contribute any amount to the fundraiser.
