The interdenominational Őrtüzek Prayer House announces a 12-week prayer for the Hungarian nation, for the conversion of Hungary between January 9 and April 3. Tibor Somogyi, the Catholic leader of the glorification service, said: our country needs this very much, when trenches are created within families and between friends in connection with the elections, politics and the coronavirus epidemic and vaccinations.

Tibor Somogyi adds: using the technical language of mountaineering, the worshipers make a summit attack, in five base camps, and then at the summit they plead for Hungary and the Hungarian nation. A new area is prayed over every two weeks:

1. For the Hungarian Church, for Christians, for the unity of Christians, for church leaders (January 9–22)

2. For politicians and secular leaders (from January 23 to February 5)

3. For mass media, public speaking, so that people respect the opinions of others and each other; talk to each other in a loving and accepting way (February 6-19)

4. For families as the smallest communities, for human relationships (from February 20 to March 5)

5. For young people, who are the foundations, pledges and heirs of Hungary's future (March 6-19)

6. For Hungary's conversion and awakening (from March 20 to April 3)

The topics are brought up by the thoughts of well-known church leaders and public figures. For the first time, we can listen to the thoughts of Kaposvár County Bishop László Varga

I would like to implement the last week of the 12-week prayer as a 168-hour continuous prayer, the participants will be able to undertake a one-hour section each. If the coronavirus epidemic allows, they would also like to hold a final joint celebration.

Tibor Somogyi explained that the purpose of the prayer is, above all, Hungary's conversion, turning to God, the coronavirus epidemic and political events are more suitable for deeper prayer.

The leader of the Őrtüzek Prayer House added that the form of the prayer depends on who can undertake what, it can be a sentence in our daily prayer, but if, for example, a pensioner can devote so much time to it, he can even pray for an hour. The organizers have also published a prayer guide, which makes it easier to join. Tibor Somogyi emphasizes that the fact that someone may have missed the start date of January 9 should not make them feel that they can no longer join.

The idea of the Őrtüzek House of Prayer was formulated by the founders exactly ten years ago, in January 2012, when they participated in the conference of the House of Prayer in Augsburg. Tibor Somogyi, who of Franciska Berkecz last year, also said that their goal is nothing less than to turn to God in a continuous glorifying prayer. They were first received by the Jesuits, now by the Hungarian Saints Parish: the glorifying prayer takes place in the chapel located in the lower church.

There are Houses of Prayer in many places, for example in Augsburg in Germany, in the USA, in Kansas City or even in two places in Jerusalem, where glorification does not stop even for a minute on all days of the week. The Prayer House of Őrtüzek would like to see this happen in Hungary as well. The realization may still be a long way off, but glorification already takes place every week at 20-22 hours in Budapest, and since last July, a brother has been serving as a full-time prayer missionary. Anyone can join in the prayer and musical praises based on the word of God. According to Tibor Somogyi, they are planning to restart worship leader training this year, hopefully, unlike last year, the coronavirus epidemic will allow this.
