The only way to really help is through actions - emphasized Minister of Justice Érden, at the press conference held on the occasion of the handover of another victim assistance point.

Judit Varga emphasized that the government considers it an important task to alleviate the social, moral, financial and emotional damage suffered by victims of crimes and property violations. To this end, the Ministry of Justice and the Pest County Police Headquarters have signed a cooperation agreement to help protect victims more effectively. The result of the contents of the document is the activation of the victim support point in the local police building. The minister pointed out that there are already victim assistance centers in nine counties, and in addition to the one just handed over, a victim assistance point was established in Salgótarján, in order to speed up administration.

Helping victims is a complex activity that requires a lot of expertise, it requires the cooperation of government offices, police bodies, churches, and civil organizations so that victims can get appropriate, tailored help as soon as possible, said Judit Varga. He said: the government's goal is to have victim assistance centers in all county seats by 2025. In the past year, the complaints of 18,000 citizens were remedied in victim assistance centers. He also said that a separate victim assistance telephone line is available to citizens, which can be reached at 06-80-225-225.
