Miklós Soltész, the Prime Minister's State Secretary responsible for church and ethnic relations, Krisztián Forró, the President of the Association, and Róbert Kiss, the Vicar of the Archdiocese of Nagyszombat, reported on the meeting of political representatives and church figures held in Dunaszerdahely in a press conference.

Róbert Kiss emphasized in his introduction: they focused on the negotiation, the areas of which were the development of the churches in the highlands, the mitigation of the consequences of the war, and the renewal of the built heritage of the church.

Krisztián Forró , the president of the Association, explained at the press conference that the support of the churches is significant from the point of view of the community, as it contributes to the functioning of the churches and at the same time provides a worthy place for the Hungarian and Slovak believers to practice their religion. In relation to the Ukrainian war, he emphasized that the role of the churches has increased in value and that is why it is even more important that they continue to be strengthened through support.

Miklós Soltész , the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations, stated that the improvement of Slovak-Hungarian relations despite the political difficulties is the result of the development which, as a result of the rapprochement, enabled the Government of Hungary to help strengthen the Hungarian community with actions. The results of this national political decision are the targeted measures that help people stay in their homeland, use their mother tongue, teach it, nurture culture and support churches.

Soltész also spoke about the fact that the Hungarian government supports not only the Hungarians beyond the border, but also the nationalities living in Hungary, including the Slovaks, with significant investments.

The state secretary also drew attention to the special role of churches, pointing out that when the Russian-Ukrainian conflict broke out, church-related charitable organizations were the first to respond to the needs of refugees. He encouraged them to continue their activities because, in his opinion, the number of refugees will increase, which makes cooperation and assistance even more justified.

Miklós Soltész announced that the Dunaszerdahely parish will receive HUF 90 million in support, which will be used to build a community center and to renovate the church tower. Speaking about the Hungarian government's investments, he noted that they strengthen Slovakia and at the same time build the community.

Bishop Róbert Kiss, thanking the Hungarian government for its dedicated help, noted that one must trust not only in human resources, but also in God with a spirit of prayer, drawing from it the love of neighbor that strengthens the community of the faithful .
