László Kövér, after taking over the leadership of the meeting, spoke about the fact that he will practice his activities fairly.

Correspondent Béla Turi-Kovács presented the results at the inaugural session of the National Assembly: 185 deputies took the ballot, two of them cast invalid votes. 170 deputies supported László Kövér with their votes, 13 deputies voted no, and no one abstained.

László Kövér was sworn in as Speaker of the House, and then the representatives congratulated him one after the other.

President János Áder shook hands with him first, followed by Viktor Orbán and Zsolt Semjén, but from the opposition, Péter Ungár, Bertalan Tóth, and László Toroczkai also congratulated the Speaker.
