Violations of the law, obstruction of the investigation, untrue statements and allegedly concealed income - this is the balance of the NAV investigation conducted at DatAdat Proffessional Kft. so far.

The tax authority reacted after DatAdat denied Magyar Nemzet's information that a house search was conducted at the company group.

According to the suspicion, DatAdat Professional Kft. illegally reduced its tax payable in 2020. The company made an untrue statement in its tax return, which could have caused a financial disadvantage to the budget, the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) said in a statement sent to the Magyar Nemzet.

DatAdat is a group of companies owned by former Socialist prime minister Gordon Bajnai, former Minister of Secrets Ádám Ficsor and chief of staff Ferenc Gyurcsány Viktor Szigetvári, which essentially organized the election campaign of the left.

, the investigators tried to seize the company's accounting documents on September 27 in the case of suspected budget fraud - In fact, DatAdat did not operate at its registered office in violation of the legal requirements.

Even on the phone, the company's managers were not willing to say the actual location of the company's operations. NAV was also unable to view the documents at DatAdat's accountant, because there was no accounting office at the given address. In the end, the investigators managed to seize a significant part of the necessary documents from the undeclared office of the individual entrepreneur doing the accounting, the tax authority announced.
