Another outstanding work of contemporary Hungarian cinematography can be seen on Sunday evening on the Danube. Among the films dealing with historical events, NO COMMAND! was included in the program offering, which follows the events of 1989 through the story of two border guard lieutenant colonels. During the fateful period, a system that has been operating for 40 years collapses.

The film takes place in 1989, a turning point in Europe. Border guards Bella Árpád and Harald Jäger find themselves in an eerily similar situation. Both - in the absence of a higher order - let the Hungarian and then the German crowd across the border. Reactions are unpredictable. With their brave action, they speed up the course of historical events at the end of the 20th century and prevent a mass tragedy from occurring. This is what Péter Szalay's reality film is about. The Béla Balázs award-winning documentary film director is primarily interested in personal stories; he is looking for creative and revolutionary people in the labyrinths of history. His films compete at domestic and international festivals. NO COMMANDS!, which has also been shown in cinemas, is continuously screened in European Union institutions, foreign consulates and embassy shows, most recently it competed in Ohio (USA).
