On May 20, in sunny weather - the day of the ascension of our Lord Jesus - the young people gathered for the Nagymaros Youth Meeting with the motto "One heart, one soul", the main lecture of which was given by Márton Járay, a reformed pastor and a mental health specialist. The main celebrant and speaker of the afternoon Mass was Benedek Fekete Szabolcs, assistant bishop of the Diocese of Szombathely.

Young people from almost every diocese in the country came to Nagymaros, even from across the border, from the Highlands, Southern Region, Vojvodina and Transylvania.

OFM Benedek Dobszay outlined the themes of the previous meetings, recalled the visit of Pope Francis, before introducing the topic of the current occasion, unity. As he said, during the construction of the Tower of Babel, people's languages get confused, they don't understand each other. At Pentecost, however, everyone understands and hears what the apostles say in their own language. He emphasized

the Holy Spirit does not heal division and confusion by "washing" us together, but creates unity despite and together with all differences.

Accordingly, for the first time in the 50-year history of the Nagymaros meeting, a Reformed pastor was invited as a speaker, and in the afternoon a married couple who, despite their differences, still live in unity, were asked to testify.

Father Lajos Kerényi added that he has been coming here for fifty years, together with István Horváth, Beton, i.e. Bishop Béla Balázs, and the younger ones, they first established the meetings in Kismaros. Hard times required heroism, even from parents and grandparents who let their children go.

Bishop Benedek Fekete Szabolcs emphasized at the Mass: "we who cooperate are fewer and fewer, and more and more people are concentrated at the other pole. The challenge of which side we stand on is huge. We are invited to cooperate with the Savior to represent the side where good triumphs over evil, light is stronger than darkness. Don't forget this, wherever you go home:

you are on the good side, the side of peace, the side of Christ, where statistics don't matter. Jesus did not change, but redeemed the world. Life wins over death," he concluded his speech.

At the end of the holy mass, the Children's March entered in an incredibly long line with 310 children, who were welcomed by the crowd standing, singing and applauding. The smaller ones came in front, the more adolescent ones in the back. Nearly sixty volunteers dealt with them. After the closing blessing and the singing of Mary, a Christian party was held in the churchyard.
