With immediate effect, the Metropolitan Government Office has banned 13 BKV buses and 5 trolleybuses from traveling on the road due to technical defects, the Metropolitan Government Office announced.

According to the office, inspections were held at four BKV locations on September 6 and 7. 40 percent of the 46 examined vehicles were unfit, and in more than one case they were particularly dangerous for road traffic.

Among other things, the government office made its decision due to malfunctions in the brake system, the chassis and the steering system. In addition to these, environmentally polluting operation - oil leakage - was also revealed, and it happened that the inspectors discovered several serious technical problems with one vehicle, they said.

They added: after the investigation, the authority ordered the repair and technical review of the vehicles for the safety of road users. The professional implementation of the regulations will be checked again by the staff of the Metropolitan Government Office.
