5,341 people entered the territory of Hungary at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border section on Thursday, 4,232 of those entering the Romanian-Hungarian border section declared that they came from Ukraine, the National Police Headquarters announced.

Among those admitted, the police issued temporary residence certificates to 305 people, which are valid for 30 days. They must visit the office of the National Directorate General of Immigration, which is competent according to their place of residence, to obtain the final documents.

Before the war in Ukraine, 259 people, including 102 children, arrived in Budapest by train on Thursday.

The Budapest Police Headquarters announced on Friday on the police.hu website that they are helping refugees arriving by train from Ukraine with the Emergency Police and those participating in police patrol training. The Budapest Civil Guard Association also provides support in the tasks.

The police are in constant contact with the National Directorate General of Disaster Management, the National Directorate General of Immigration, the Hungarian State Railways Ltd., the Budapest Transport Center, the Police Directorate of the Metropolitan Municipality, the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest, as well as the staff of aid organizations, the announcement states.
